The New Employee Web Part Settings
The web part may be configured in different ways, e.g. in regard to the number of employees to be shown and the time span of the hiring date. SharePoint Search is used to retrieve the relevant employees.
Like the Birthdays web part, the Managed metadata property can be changed and other property from the user profile could be used for example to show employees that were recently promoted.

Configure templates the New Employees module
The Enterprise template mechanism enables you to customize the look, feel, and functionality of the New Employee module by the means of templates.
The New Employee module includes one template out-of-the box for the New Employee web part. This template displays new employees with photo, department, and date of hiring:
You find an overview of templates for the New Employee module under ‘Templates’ in Enterprise’s New Employee module administration. From here, you can edit existing templates and create new.
