Introduction

This release contains new features, changes, improvements, and resolved issues.  If an entry here is a result of a bug report or feature request, the relevant ID number (#xxxx) will be at the end of the entry.

Prerequisites ​

It is required to have 6.68 or any hotfix installed before upgrading to this version.

Please check previous release notes if you are not upgrading from the latest version.

Supported environments

This release supports the following environments:

• SharePoint Server 2013​​
• SharePoint Server 2016
• SharePoint Server 2019

Please note: As the SharePoint Modern experience platform and development framework is too far behind SharePoint Online, the Enterprise on Modern SharePoint experience capabilities are not currently supported on SharePoint Server 2019.

Changes and improvements

• Corporate news (Modern) - #29643: Resolution improvements have been made to high-quality images.
• Corporate News (Modern): The site's regional locale can now be used to define date formats. It can be enabled and disabled via the 'Settings' tab of the Corporate News Module in the Administration Portal. When this functionality is enabled all the dates on the Modern templates of the Corporate News webpart will be displayed according to the site's 'Locale' setting, located in the 'Regional settings' in SharePoint site settings.
• Noticeboard (Classic) - #22400, #25280: Users will now be notified of replies to their comments, as well as comments on relevant items.
• Noticeboard (Modern) - The delete dialogue for items should now be centered and fully visible on all screen sizes.
• Noticeboard (Modern): The site's regional locale can now be used to define date formats. It can be enabled and disabled via the 'Configuration' tab of the Noticeboard Module in the Administration Portal. When this functionality is enabled all the dates on the Modern templates of the Noticeboard webpart will be displayed according to the site's 'Locale' setting, located in the 'Regional settings' in SharePoint site settings.
• Page Information (Modern): The site's regional locale can now be used to define date formats. It can be enabled and disabled via the 'Configuration' tab of the Page Last Edited Info Module in the Administration Portal. When this functionality is enabled all the dates on the Modern templates will be displayed according to the site's 'Locale' setting, located in the 'Regional settings' in SharePoint site settings.
• Policies & Procedures (Modern) - #29642: Users will now be able to exclude invalid policies when filtering policies in the Policies for Me webpart.
• UI Change: UI changes have been made to reflect Yammer's transition to Viva Engage.

Resolved issues

• Corporate News (Classic) - #29572: View count has been implemented for the Classic webpart. The count can be enabled or disabled via the administration portal under Corporate News Social Functionality.
• Corporate News (Modern) - #28644: Template will now re-render on change of screen size to ensure layout adjusts correctly.
• Enterprise - #30664: A solution has been provided for duplicated users in the database. The auto-fix option, located in the Installation tab of the Installation Module in the Administration Portal, will now ensure all duplicated users are resolved. After running the auto-fix, it is strongly recommended to run the principalSync timer job and clear the enterprise's cache. With this fix, assignment and permission issues with Quicklinks, Noticeboard and Workspaces should now be resolved.
• Enterprise - #30751, #30782, #30823, #30678: Group membership synchronization has been fixed for new users.
• Learning & Events (Classic) - #29398: The sign-up modal will now always display the current event details when navigating between events.
• Noticeboard (Classic): Items will now always update immediately after editing.
• Noticeboard (Modern) - #29688: Authors and alternate authors are now able to delete comments on their own posts.
• Noticeboard (Modern) - #29556: Advanced filtering will now be able to handle more than one filter.
• Noticeboard (Modern) - #29235: Formatting issues for languages in the create/edit template have been resolved.
• Noticeboard (Modern) - #30568: The 'Show all items' option for the Compact view template is now working as expected.
• Noticeboard (Modern) - The pager navigation buttons now correctly navigate back and forth between items.
• Workspaces (Modern & Classic) - #30252: The default value for roles will be empty and editable if the previous value has been removed from the database.
