Upgrading the On-premises Agent

Note: Applies to Directory hybrid (on-premises AD) deployments only

New features are added frequently and may require an updated on-premises Agent. If you are notified that a manual update is required, complete the following steps. 

1   Stop the Directory Service

• From the host machine, open the Services Snap-in Console (Run -> “services.msc”)
• Find the Directory Service and stop it

2   Uninstall the Directory Agent as a program

• Click Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features
• Click on LiveTiles Directory (or Hyperfish for installations before version 4) and click 'Uninstall'

3   Install the new Directory Agent

• Download the latest version of the Hyperfish Agent installer from https://files.hyperfish.com/files/HyperfishAgent.msi
• Run HyperfishAgent.msi on the host machine
• When asked for a device code, do NOT enter one; leave the field blank and click ‘Next’
• Finish the installation

4   Restart the Directory Service

• From the host machine, open the Services Snap-in Console (Run -> “services.msc”)
• Find the LiveTiles Directory (or Hyperfish for installations before version 4) service and restart it

Confirm agent connection by logging into the Hyperfish web application (https://app.hyperfish.com) and navigating to Settings -> General. The updated version number is displayed as well.
