Prerequisites
- An installed and configured Directory Premium subscription
- SharePoint Online Tenant
- Advanced Profile Features needs to be enabled (Settings -> General)
Note: After Advanced Profile Features are activated, at least one daily full scan must be completed. (Scheduled time can be configured from Settings -> General).
Download the LiveTiles Directory SharePoint web part package
Installing the Profile, Directory, and Org Chart web parts
1 Navigate to the SharePoint Admin Center, e.g. https://contoso-admin.sharepoint.com/
2 From the SharePoint Admin Center side-bar, navigate to more features -> Apps -> 'App Catalog' -> 'Apps for SharePoint'
3 Click '+ New' to add a new app, 'Choose Files' and locate the web part package, and click 'OK'
The Directory Profile Webpart should appear with a Product ID '{A6FF940E-4893-450B-8D91-FACC995C34EE}':
4 You will be asked to consent and trust the LiveTiles Directory webparts.
You must select "Make this solution available to all sites in the organization"
Click 'Deploy' to finish adding the app.
5 Navigate to the SharePoint Admin Center. From the modern experience, choose Advanced -> API access. Pending approvals will show up. If no approvals are pending then this step is complete (it can take a few seconds once on the page for the request to load). If there is a pending approval, select the pending item and approve it.
The two permissions the LiveTiles Director requires are:
- User.ReadBasic.All
- Presence.Read.All
Deploying to Microsoft Teams
In the SharePoint app catalog select the LiveTiles Directory web part package.
Select the File tab on the top of the page. Finally, select 'Sync to Teams'
Once complete, navigate to Teams in either a browser or the desktop version. Choose Apps from the left hand menu and then choose Directory (or search for it if its not shown). Choose Open.
Once open you can right click on the Directory icon in the left hand navigation menu and choose Pin
Adding a Directory Web Part to a Site Page
Navigate to the target SharePoint site page, enter 'Edit' mode to add a web part :
You should see the Directory, Profile and Orgchart web parts in the menu.
Select the WebPart you'd like to add and publish the changes:
The Profile Web Part
The Live Directory Web Part
The Organizational Chart Web Part
Web Part Localization
Directory currently offers the Profile, Live Directory and Organizational Chart web parts in the following languages from version 6 of the web part package onwards:
- English (en-us),
- Dutch (nl-nl),
- French (fr-fr)
- French Canadian (fr-ca)
- German (de-de)
The web parts will automatically render in the users preferred language as set in their OS or Browser settings. They will default to English if their preferred language is not supported.

The languages mentioned in chapter "Web Part Localization" (EN, DE, FR) seem not to be correct. In the page Setting up Localization chapter "Localizing Directory Web Parts" it is written to support the languages English, Dutch, German and French.
