Introduction

This release contains changes, improvements, and resolved issues.  If an entry here is a result of a bug report or feature request, the relevant ID number (#xxxx) will be at the end of the entry.

There are no prerequisites for this release.

Please check previous release notes if you are not upgrading from the latest version.

Supported environments

This release supports the following environments:

• Office 365 tenant and Azure
• SharePoint Server 2013​
• SharePoint Server 2016
• SharePoint Server 2019

Please note: As the SharePoint Modern experience platform and development framework is too far behind SharePoint Online, the Wizdom on Modern SharePoint experiences capabilities are currently not supported on SharePoint Server 2019.

Changes and improvements

Modern

• Improved the display of the banner “Number of licensed accounts” in the Admin portal.
• Improved the loading of the front page in the Admin portal.
• Changed the mobile version of the Mega Menu to include local and hub navigation. (#8551)
• Improved performance for the Page Information web part and Page Properties application customizer.
• Redis Cache will now default to TLS protocol 1.2 for a more secure connection. This should be supported by all Azure Redis instances and therefor have no effect on running instances. It can be rolled back to a lower secure TLS protocol if need by an app setting. Please reach out to LiveTiles support for guidance.​

Classic

Modern

• Fixed error where application customizer would fail to initialize for componentId “9f1a0026-0cb7-4721-98a3-20b2b192fd91”.
• The context menu of an inserted table in a Noticeboard message will now appear in front of the panel and can be used for editing the table. (#8364)
• The People Directory will now also display users if a department was selected after a free text search. ​(#7577, #8034)
• Links with the checkbox ‘Use icon’ selected in Quicklinks can no longer be created without having an icon selected. (#7948)
• Minor fix to logging the query text in RevisionTimerJob.
• Metadata marked with “Hide on display form” in Workspaces will now be hidden.
• Added usable error descriptions when editing Workspace keywords metadata fail. (#7899)
• Workspace roles now correctly filter membership for Internals and Externals. (#8004)
• A Workspace can now be deleted if it is referencing a deleted Team. (#8090)
• Fixes a problem where the creation of new Workspace types could fail due to an ‘unsupported path format’. (#8501)

Classic
