Introduction

This release contains new features, changes and improvements, and bug fixes.  If an entry here is a result of a bug report or feature request, the relevant ID number (#xxxx) will be at the end of the entry.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this release.

Please check previous release notes if you are not upgrading from the latest version.

Supported environments

This release supports the following environments:

• Office 365 tenant and Azure
• SharePoint Server 2013
• SharePoint Server 2016
• SharePoint Server 2019

Note: As the Modern SharePoint experience platform and development framework is too far behind SharePoint Online, the Wizdom on Modern SharePoint experiences capabilities are currently not supported on SharePoint Server 2019.

New features

Modern

​In the Noticeboard web part, you can now filter the result when searching for posts. For example, if you want to search for a post containing “social collaboration”, you can now filter the result based on author, channel, content type, and date to narrow down the result of your search.

In the Corporate News web part, you can now swipe left or right on mobile devices to change between news items.

If the SharePoint search user is missing in the application settings, the Wizdom audience sync timer job will instead use the app token when performing the sync.

• In Noticeboard, you can now search for special characters in the content of a post (#6325) (#6843).
• In Noticeboard, you will no longer create multiple new posts by clicking the “create” button multiple times. Instead, the button becomes inactive to make sure only one instance of the post is created.
• In Noticeboard, you will no longer create two comments by double-clicking the “add” button.
• In Noticeboard, the channel picker now expands or folds based on the number of channels in the channel set and not the total number. If more than 100 channels are shown, the set will fold and only parent channels will be shown. If less than 100 channels are shown, all channels including child channels will be shown.
• In Noticeboard, it is now possible to edit and save changes to a post with an alternate author (#7700).
• In Noticeboard, when creating a post based on the video content type, only the video icon will be shown (#7705).
• In Noticeboard, when creating a post based on the video content type, the default poster no longer overwrites a custom picked one (#7706).
• In Policies and Procedures, an issue handling security groups has been fixed so all members of the group are reflected in the corresponding web parts (#7593).

• In Learning and Events, when downloading the calendar file for an event, the site will no longer redirect you to the overview of events. Instead, you will stay on the current page (#6494).
