Introduction

This release contains new features, changes, improvements, and resolved issues.  If an entry here is a result of a bug report or feature request, the relevant ID number (#xxxx) will be at the end of the entry.

Known issues

• The Page Properties application customizer on Enterprise for Modern SharePoint is currently not rendering correctly in IE11. We see the issue occur on pages with Page Properties and Noticeboard. The issue can potentially occur in combination with other web parts. If you are using IE11 and the Page Properties feature on SharePoint's Modern experiences, please consider waiting with upgrading until we release a hotfix.

​Required version​

It is required to upgrade to v. 6.48 or any hotfix for it ​​​before upgrading to any newer versions in the future. An example: Upgrading from 6.47 to 6.49 will require an upgrade to 6.48 before installing version 6.49.​

This release supports the following environments:

Please note: As the SharePoint Modern experiences platform and development framework is too far behind SharePoint Online, the Wizdom on Modern SharePoint experiences capabilities are currently not supported on SharePoint Server 2019.

Features

​Tagging in Noticeboard

This release includes a new tagging feature in Noticeboard. Admins can now enable integration between Noticeboard and SharePoint to allow editors and content creators to tag their web parts and news posts with one or more tags from a SharePoint term set.

This allows editors to set up web parts based on tags and content creators to link posts across channels based on e.g. theme or topic. End users will also be able to filter web parts based on the tags by either setting the filter in the pane or simply clicking the representation of a tag on the post.

Let's take an example. Once an admin has enabled the integration and picked a term set, an editor can now set up a web part for the HR department only displaying news posts with the tags "Hiring" and "New employees". This will help the department keep track of all news posts regarding hiring and new employees.

Content creators posting news about open positions or new employees in the different department channels will likewise be able to tag their posts with "Hiring" or "New employees". This will both feed the information to the department but also the new web part that was set up for HR.

Last but not least an interested end-user can filter his or her feed based on the same tags and get an overview of open positions and new employees.

• A slider has been implemented for the Cards template to allow editors to specify the number of news to be shown in the Corporate news web part. (#7627)​
• We have added extra resilience to LiveTiles Everywhere in modern browsers improving the stability of the feature​.
• In Noticeboard search, a quick filter on "My posts" has been added above "Refined search" to allow content creators to quickly access their own posts (including future posts).
• We have improved the security of the Like API and Comment API to ensure​ that custom use of the two can not add data that will prevent Noticeboard from displaying the data.
• We have improved the security against scripts inclu​ded in URLs when uploading images in Noticeboard.
• We have added a default icon to the Quicklinks module to ensure templates, based on icons, will always have a default to display if no other icon has been uploaded.
• Vue is no longer referenced from cloudflare, but are now hosted on http://wizdom.azureedge.net/ like all other wizdom scripts and libraries.
• We have added support for custom columns in the Policy Index and Policies for Me web parts.
• We have improved the Page Properties application customizer, displaying the must read functionality, to display the contextual notification on the left instead of the bottom. (#6812).
• We have implemented a new Property Pane Taxonomy Picker control in the Corporate News web part to allow​ for a better user experience when selecting terms from a larger term set. (#7318)

• We have fixed an issue where a LiveTiles Everywhere panel would close if the user pressed enter e.g. to perform a search.
• Multiple clicks on t​he "Create" button will no longer result in multiple nested comments in Noticeboard. Previously this was possible if the user was fast enough to select the submit button multiple times in quick succession. (#8392)
• We have fixed an issue where removing the search text in Noticeboard would not clear the search​ results.
• We have fixed an issue with Noticeboard panels (e.g. filtering and creating new items) not working in teams. (#8835​​​​)
• We have fixed an issue in the Page information module where the "Enable on modern" checkbox in related content was inverted.​
• We have fixed an issue with missing links count in the Visual header of Qu​icklinks when using the List template. (#9251)

• We have fixed an issue where the dynamic link for Wizdom Configuration Center would end with a "You have no permissions" error. (#8579​)

• We have fixed an issue where Noticeboard news synchronization timer job did not sync posts already expired just to delete them again. A configuration whether to keep or delete expired news in SharePoint has been added to the Noticeboard admin modules SharePoint Search page. Delete is default. (#10380)
• We have fixed an issue with double Noticeboard email notifications on creation of new posts. (#9459, #8791, #9475)
• We have fixed an issue where large thumbnails in Noticeboard wasn't rendered by Outlook in the notification email.
• We have fixed an issue with Workspace where users in a role that gave Office365 Group owner permissions was not able to also gain member permissions. That could cause problems when owners wanted to create a Planner tab. Now users in Worksp​aces roles can be both Office365 Group owners and members matching what is configured in the Workspace roles.
