The following article will take you through the prelimary steps to enable your SharePoint environment for LiveTiles installation. At the end of the article you can find links for installation guides and supporting guides for LiveTiles Design and Blueprint.
Pre-Installation Setup Steps
There are three areas that need to be setup prior to installation of LiveTiles Design or Blueprint.
To install LiveTiles you need to have an account with Site Collection Administrator permissions.
If you do not know what this means or do not have the permissions, please contact your SharePoint or Office365 Admin.
Installing on SharePoint 2013 or 2016
If you are installing LiveTiles SharePoint on SharePoint Online (Office 365), follow the steps below.
If you are installing LiveTiles SharePoint on SharePoint 2013 or 2016 (on-premises) you will need to follow the On-Premise App Catalog Setup article to set up your environment for apps.
Step one
Check that the Custom Scripts option is set to Allow for your SharePoint tenant.
Go to:
https://<yourdomain>-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/TenantSettings.aspx
ex. https://livetiles-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/TenantSettings.aspx
If the settings are both set to Allow, move on to App Catalog.
Step two
If set to Prevent >select Allow for both Custom Script options > Click OK
*This setting change can take up to 24 hours to apply. If you require the site to have immediate access you can use the SharePoint Online Management Tool steps below to change the setting*
Powershell
Use the SharePoint Online Management Tool to execute the following PowerShell commands to turn on Allow Custom Scripting for the tenant.
Download the Management tool at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35588
Step one
Connect-SPOService
Step two
Enter tenant admin username and password:
Set-SPOsite <https://<yourdomain>.sharepoint.com>
-DenyAddAndCustomizePages 0
Note: If instead you would only like to enable custom scripting for an individual site collection, use the following command instead:
Set-SPOsite <SiteURL> -DenyAddAndCustomizePages 0
*You also need to make sure the custom scripting setting in the admin portal matches what you set using PowerShell or the site collection setting may be overridden again in the next 24 hours*
The LiveTiles Design Manager app is deployed via the SharePoint organisation app catalog.
