What are Events in Reach?
In LiveTiles Reach, the content is divided into different types (content types). The best known are "News", "Posts", "Events" and "Pages".
An Event can be announced with and without registration. For example, when planning a team event, you can let your colleagues know via event and add a registration option. Integrated polls allow detailed queries of participant information. Evaluations are visible at a glance.
Creating Events
Navigate to the Events section in the left navigation. If you do not see this area, it could be related to your license model.
To create an event, navigate to the section "Events" and click on the edit icon on the right hand side.
Here you select the desired group that corresponds to the target audience of your event. In the example below, the new event will be created in the "Everyone" group.
An event can also be created in multiple groups. To do this, select "Edit groups" on the right side and select the desired groups.
With the function "Click here to specify the event dates" you set the start and end date of the event. With "Repeat" recurring events can be defined (this feature is currently in preview, please contact us if you want to try this out).
You can define a publication date separately. After the end date of the event has been reached, the entry will no longer be displayed in the overview.
Polls can also be inserted in Events.
Configuring event locations
A location on the map as well as an online participation can be defined as the event location. Several locations can be entered from both types of location.
Enable registrations
To enable registration for an event, navigate to the editor of an event.
Click on "Turn on registrations for this event".
The reader can register for an event on the teaser. If several locations are configured, a selection must be made first.
A user with the role author, editor or administrator can also display and manage logged in users via the detail view. Registered users can be unregistered.
In the location settings of an event, the available number of seats can be assigned individually:
If the number of participants is limited, only a corresponding number of people can register for the event.
Authors can set whether the list of already registered persons should be publicly visible:
Register other people
If a registration is enabled for an event, a user can register him- or herself, but also other people. To do this, the "View and manage participants" window can be opened from the bottom of the detailed view of an event:
If a user who, is invited to an event, does not yet exist in LiveTiles Reach, he or she will automatically be invited to LiveTiles Reach.
Transfer LiveTiles Reach Events to MS Outlook
Every event in LiveTiles Reach offers the possibility of an ICS download:
ICS files can automatically add the event to calendars that support the ICS file format such as MS Outlook, Apple iCal, Google Calendar and Mozilla Lightning. From the LiveTiles Reach event, the title, location, start and end date are included in the ICS file.
